Take care of your money: statins are not associated with a reduction in cardiovascular disease

The results of the University Institute for Primary Care Research Jordi Gol (IDIAPJGol) and Girona Biomedical Research Institute (IDIBGI)’ study do not support the widespread use of statins in old and very old people. Statin treatment was not associated with a reduction in CVD or all-cause mortality in both age groups.

Only in participants aged 75-84 years with diabetes statins were associated with reduced levels of CVD and all-cause mortality. Take care of your money.
